At Good Dog Academy, our Trainer Prep Program (TPP) is for people who are seriously curious about becoming a dog trainer, but not quite ready to jump straight into a full professional certification program.

You’ll learn the some of the core concepts we teach in our Professional Dog Trainer Certificate (PDT) program - scaled for beginners - so you can discover whether the trainer path is the right fit for you.

And when you’re ready to keep going? Complete TPP and you’ll receive a $100 coupon toward your tuition in Good Dog Academy’s full Professional Dog Trainer Certificate Program.

Waiver Requirement: A completed waiver is mandatory for participation in the program.

This program is not for anyone looking for a quick “certificate” to start charging clients. TPP is a knowledge-building course and DOES NOT certify you as a professional dog trainer. 

Good Dog Academy’s Trainer Prep Program is an educational course designed to build your knowledge and understanding of dog training concepts. It is not a professional dog trainer certification program.

By enrolling in this course, you understand that:

  • Completion of this course does not qualify you as a Professional Dog Trainer.
  • Completion of this course does not certify you to teach, coach or train members of the public for a fee.
  • Any work you do with dogs or people outside of this course is your own responsibility, and you agree to follow all applicable laws, regulations and professional standards in your area.
  • If you wish to become a certified professional dog trainer, you will need to enroll in Good Dog Academy’s Professional Dog Trainer Certificate (PDT) program.
